Hartt Transportation’s Bangor Terminal is immediately hiring for a Night and Weekend Fleet Manager. Mon – Wed 2pm – 10pm, and Sat & Sun 7am-5pm
Assigns customer loads to drivers for pick-up and delivery of freight by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Works from list of available drivers/vehicles in various locations in a constantly dynamic and changing environment.
Assigns loads to drivers according to factors such as length and purpose of trip, freight and preference of customer.
Ensures that loads are assigned to drivers with consideration to their available hours of service in order to reach their destinations per the customer’s requested schedule.
Manages times of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return.
Investigates overdue vehicles.
Directs activities of drivers by electronic and phone communication.
Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged deliveries.
Maintains record of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses.
Establishes service or delivery routes.
Other duties may be assigned.
Directly supervises 30 (on average) Truck Drivers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Word Processing software and Spreadsheet software. Prior experience with TMW, PC Miler and Peoplenet helpful but not required.
