Job Description: Position will provide backup coverage in both Operations and Customer service departments by performing the following duties:
Working from a list of available drivers/vehicles in various locations in a constantly dynamic and changing environment.
This position is Nights and Weekends with a choice of 4 – 10 hour shifts or 5- 8 hour shifts.
Tracking assigned loads to drivers according to factors such as length and purpose of trip, freight and preference of customer.
Managing times of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return.
Directing activities of drivers by electronic and phone communication.
Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged deliveries.
Establishes service or delivery routes.
Other duties may be assigned.
Sound decision making ability is a must!
Required experience: Minimum of six month related experience in transportation management.
Required education: College Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Pay is commensurate on related experience. Other duties may apply.
